Our curriculum is designed to teach your child at a level where he/she is developmentally and will challenge him/her to grow. Each age group has separate monthly goals that are written to a daily curriculum plan by the classroom teacher and reviewed by the Directors. This gives teachers an opportunity to make each day geared towards your child's interests and developmental stage.
Our teachers get together monthly to brainstorm and plan for curriculum. Together they create a creative, yet challenging plan for their class that will teach the goals set for each month.
Our "Terrific 2's" are exposed to a variety of creative art activities, which will inspire their own uniqueness.
Art activities play a valuable role in the development of small motor skills. Your child will be painting, molding, and doing other activities that will strengthen his/her hand muscles, preparing him/her to hold a pencil correctly.
Music awareness and use of instruments as well as song and dance will be a part of his/her day.
Expression through literature helps your child develop a creative and imaginary mind.
Cooking projects give your child an opportunity, through the science of cooking, to create something edible.
Your child will be working with his/her peers in a small classroom environment. Through conversations and problem solving, social skills are developed. This helps your child prepare language, independence and high self-esteem.
Your child will learn through positive reinforcement in the areas of math, science, language, literature and social studies. This will ensure success and a self-motivated child.
2-year-olds work on colors, shapes, counting, names, patterning, tearing, cutting and much more. Your child will learn to sit in circle for story time and play in small groups while learning rules of the school as well as rules of society.
Art enrichment activities are designed to expand their creativity, which allows for a better understanding of the world around them.
The 3's work with a variety of goals monthly. The children have opportunities to explore, experience and work together with their teacher's guidance. Through Math and Science, Library, Music, Art and Dramatic Play we develop both sides of the brain allowing your child to enhance their further learning.
Because of our small class size, teachers work closely on individual social skills. Examples of this are; how to get along with others, solve conflicts (with adult help and guidance), and how to become responsible and independent individual.
Play gives your child the freedom to imagine, explore and create using their own thoughts and ideas. Supporting the development of the mind leads to life-long learning.
Your child learns finger plays, nursery rhymes and proper use of supplies. We work on the alphabet, writing skills and phonics. Spanish will be introduced as well. Math includes counting, number recognition, patterning and sorting. Many different science experiments allows discovery, and your child gets to experience all this first hand by doing it himself/herself.
A variety of art enrichment activities are on the curriculum. Your child is encouraged to create their own art pieces just the way they sees it best. There are no precut art projects available. We rely on your child's endless imagination to create art masterpieces.
Music, an essential part of our curriculum, we will expose your child to a wide variety of music styles. We sing, dance, play instruments and participate in marching bands.
The TK curriculum focus is for your child to be prepared to go to Kindergarten. With a maximum of 10 children in a class the teacher has many opportunities throughout the day to teach skills children need to master by the time Kindergarten starts.
Your child works on writing skills using the Handwriting Without Tears program. We work on writing skills, phonics and have a "letter of the week" that correlates with share day. There will be simple Spanish words that are taught as well.
Your child will be practicing writing numbers 1 to 20 and counting to 100. He/she may even be doing simple adding and subtracting. Phone numbers, special science experiments and learning about weather, magnets, recycling, dental health, body parts and much more will be done during science time.
Art is taught with a wide variety of mediums. Exceptional creativity is the goal. Your child can, in their own way, experience the joy of creativity. Non directed, and no precut art projects allows for individualization according to your child's unique perspective.
Music, an essential part of our curriculum, will expose your child to a wide variety of music styles. Your child will sing, dance, play instruments and participate in marching bands.
Throughout the day, in all social situations with friends, problem solving and making independent choices is encouraged. As your child is given opportunities to solve his/her own problems, they will become more independent and confident with their peers. This will help them greatly in the future with new situations.
